Beautiful abundant white flowers attract beneficial insects. Garlic chives love the light shade cast by a well-pruned fruit tree and will provide plenty of seasoning for your cooking. Don’t die back in summer like Garlic. Garlic chives are more vigorous and spreading than regular chives.

Myoga ginger is a beautiful ornamental ginger that can be grown in the ground in zone 6 and possibly colder. It is in the same family as conventional ginger but doesn’t make a fleshy rhizome like regular ginger. Instead the young leaves and flower buds are used as a ginger flavored vegetable in traditional Japanese and Korean dishes. It is useful in the shade garden, but can also take up to full sun.
