Full Sun to Part Shade. Full size on seedling rootstock, space 15′-25′ apart, self fertile
This tree claims its parentage from Southern Indiana wild-growing mulberries. The earliest fruiting of the trees we have producing right now. Great producer of sweet but flavorful dark lavender fruit. Juice is less-staining than black fruited mulberries, but not completely clear. Has a more berry-like flavor than your typical non-staining white or lavender fruit (which tend to be very sweet but bland) – almost as flavorful as black mulberry fruits. Short but fat berries. Non-grafted, it roots very easily from cuttings. Self fertile. . . Grafted
